Clocks turn back for the end of daylight saving

Lucky folks across much of eastern Australia will welcome an extra hour of shut-eye as daylight saving comes to an end on Sunday. Clocks in NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and the ACT will lose an hour at 3am, joining the same time zone as Queensland. The extra 60 minutes provides an opportunity to kick-start healthy sleep habits, says Adelaide Institute for Sleep Health director Danny Eckert. Watch the latest news and stream for free on 7plus >> “When we wind the clock back as we are about to do, there is the opportunity to get more sleep. People may find it easier to fall asleep earlier in the evening and wake up at a more appropriate time,” he told AAP. “This can be especially helpful for children and adolescents who may be finding it very tough to wake up in the morning at present.” A Health ier sleep schedule is also key to reducing the risks of a heart attack or stroke, according to a recent study conducted by Professor Eckert and his team at Flinders University. The study found

Senate votes to repeal decades-old measures that authorized Iraq, Gulf wars

Image
The Senate's passage of the bipartisan legislation comes after years of prior attempts to repeal the war authorizations. The Senate on Wednesday voted to repeal two congressional authorizations from decades ago allowing the use of military force against Iraq, a country then falsely accused of stockpiling chemical and nuclear weapons and now a U.S. security partner in the Gulf region. The measure passed the Democrat-led Senate in a bipartisan 66-30 vote and now heads to the Republican-controlled House. The 1991 and 2002 Authorizations for the Use of Military Force took effect under former Presidents George H. W. Bush and his son, George W. Bush, respectively. Both AUMFs authorized force against Iraq. A third, broader AUMF approved by Congress 2001 was not incorporated into the latest repeal effort because supporters say it is still needed to combat al-Qaeda, the Taliban, ISIS and related terror operations. Active Duty NATO-Country Troops Found Beheaded and Hands Cut-off in Soledar Ukraine

Image
Russian troops making successful progress into Soledar, Ukraine, are coming upon hideous scenes.  Former ACTIVE-DUTY NATO TROOPS, with their HEADS and HANDS CUT-OFF to prevent/Delay their identification.  Ukraine is desperate to conceal NATO active troops fighting Russians. The brief video below contains horrifying and graphic images of the dead bodies of NATO active duty troops, beheaded and without hands. The video shows gruesome and horrifying images of actual death.  Viewer discretion is strongly advised: Making it all the more horrible, the Russian forensic examiners reveal these troops WERE ALIVE when their heads and hands were cut off.  Pooling of blood from the wounds makes clear  the hearts of these men were still pumping when their heads and hands were cut off.  This seems to indicate the Ukrainians  MURDERED  the active-duty NATO troops so they could not be captured alive, which would prove their active duty status! Players Buy Single-Building Ostriv DLC To Support Ukrainian Developer

Players of the city builder Ostriv are showing their support for the game's Ukrainian developer Yevheniy, purchasing a brand new piece of downloadable content called Patron of the Arts. This features a single building, but has been flying off the digital shelves on Steam, due mostly to its unique purpose. Ostriv is currently still in Early Access, having been in development since 2014. The Game has a unique focus on historic accuracy which has garnered a cult following amongst city building enthusiasts. As a small independent developer, Yevheniy has however been struggling to keep up with the financial demands of Game development, particularly given the circumstances concerning the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Unveiling the Secrets of Egyptian Mummification: Ancient Greek Discovery ѕһoсkѕ Archaeology World

Analyzing the residue on pottery discovered in an ancient embalming studio has provided us with fresh information about how ancient Egyptians mᴜmmіfіed the deаd. Even more ѕһoсkіпɡɩу, a team of experts has been able to correlate certain compounds to the precise body parts on which they were utilized. This discovery is, in part, thanks to the residues themselves, which were studied using biomolecular techniques; but many of the vessels were intact, including not just the names of their contents, but instructions for their use. In a ѕtаtemeпt issued to the ргeѕѕ, archaeologist Susanne Beck of the University of Tübingen in Germany explains, “We have known the names of several of these embalming components since ancient Egyptian inscriptions were decoded.” Yet, prior to this discovery, we could only conjecture what compounds each term referred to. In 2018, a сomЬіпed German-Egyptian team found a Ьᴜгіаɩ complex in Saqqara, Egypt, dating back to the 26th or Saite Dynasty, b

Counter Strike 2's New Molotov Inspired By CS:GO Fan Request

Counter-Strike 2 is real and it's coming faster than we thought. After a month of leaks and trademarks, Valve dropped three videos showcasing the new features coming in the sequel to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. One of them was a really cool smoke grenade that's persistent across everyone's Game so the cloud you see is the same as the cloud everyone else sees. And on the CS2 website, a new molotov grenade was revealed using the same liquid shader as found in Half-Life: Alyx. This new molotov seems largely inspired by a CS:GO fan project from three years ago. As noted by Game sRadar+, the Molotov Rework V2 from Zool gave CS:GO's firebomb better glass-shattering sound effects, better Zippo sound and particle effects, and the rag way more fire than in the base Game . It looks a lot like what we see in the gif on the CS2 website, but for one thing suggested by a fan: "the Half-Life: Alyx liquid shader just to have the sexiest molotov."

Counter-Strike 2 Is Real, Coming Summer 2023

Counter-Strike 2 is not only real, but it's going to be here by this summer. That's according to videos just posted to Valve's official YouTube channel explaining some of the new Technology coming in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive sequel. The first video discussed Counter-Strike 2's "new Game engine" that allows it to create dynamic new smoke grenades. The new smoke grenades produce "volumetric 3D objects that live in the world," meaning every player sees the same smoke and that smoke can react to lighting and even the passing of a player's bullets. Related: Betas Only Became Twisted Because Corporations Kept Selling Them To Us Counter-Strike 2's second video discussed the "new look" of maps coming to the sequel. Some maps will remain entirely the same in terms of layout but will receive minor improvements to textures and lighting, while other maps will receive more impressive upgrades thanks to the

Karl Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards injury updates: Wolves stars could return Wednesday vs. Hawks, per report

The Minnesota Timberwolves are holding onto their playoff hopes by a thread right now. They had a big win on Monday against the New York Knicks, but they are still just 36-37 and lead the No. 11-seeded Los Angeles Lakers in the standings by only one Game . Fortunately, they are expecting reinforcements in the very near future. According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, both Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards could return to the lineup as soon as Wednesday against the Atlanta Hawks. Towns has been out since November due to a Grade 3 calf strain. He reportedly suffered a setback in his rehabilitation earlier in the season, and has therefore been out roughly four months, but now the Timberwolves are expecting to get their All-Star big man back in the fold quickly. Edwards suffered what looked like a scary ankle injury in Thursday's loss to the Chicago Bulls when he seemingly sprained his ankle and neede

Saving the Whale Shark: A Tale of Heroism and Tragedy on an Ecuadorian Beach A recent incident in Santa Marianita, Ecuador, made headlines around the world when a massive nine -meter female whale shark washed up on the beach, leaving authorities and animal rescuers scrambling to save the gentle giant’s life. Despite their best efforts, the animal died after six hours of valiant attempts to keep it alive. This tragedy underscored the need to protect these magnificent creatures and their habitats. Nearly a hundred police officers, animal rescuers, and concerned citizens banded together to try to save the stranded whale shark. Local fishermen spotted the 16-ton shark as it rolled into the surf, and officials attempted to roll the shark back to sea with boats and diggers. Volunteers used hoses and buckets to keep water flowing over the animal’s gills and held shade overhead to protect its skin from the scorching sun. “They did their best,” says eyewitness Tanya Layman.
