Carlo Ancelotti explains Jude Bellingham and Kaka comparison

Image
Carlo Ancelotti has explained the comparison he's made between Jude Bellingham and ex-Real Madrid star Kaka. The Madrid manager recently stated that the "closest" player to the in-form Bellingham that he's ever seen is 2007 Ballon d'Or winner Kaka and, ahead of Real Madrid's clash with Union Berlin in the UEFA Champions League , Ancelotti has been asked to explain the comparison . Ancelotti revealed his belief that Bellingham is better "without the ball" than Kaka was. "Kaka got into the box a lot with the ball. He didn't have as much quality to get there without the ball, like Bellingham. We play without a fixed nine and in the box there is more space to finish," said Ancelotti at his pre-match press conference. "With Kaka the system was different, but in general Kaka was very good on the ball and Bellingham's movement off the ball is very effective." Alejandro Garnacho branded 'a clown' by furious Copenhagen stars

Image
Copenhagen defender Denis Vavro has called Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho "a clown " for his antics during the two teams' Champions League clashes this season. Garnacho was caught scuffing the penalty spot late in last month's meeting between the two, when Andre Onana saved late on to seal a 1-0 victory, and was accused of trying to do the same when Copenhagen were awarded a penalty on Wednesday. Onana was powerless to stop Diogo Goncalves this time, however, as Copenhagen equalised on the night as part of their dramatic 4-3 comeback. After the Game , Vavro did not hold back with his verdict of Garnacho. "I saw that he tried to do something about the penalty kick, but Kevin Diks stood in front and blocked," Vavro told Bold . "It is the second time. And then on our pitch? To me he is a clown . "He has the mentality of a child when he tries something like this again, in an away game. It's one thing at home in the 97th minute, but her...

Barcelona learn Champions League ban fate over Negreira case

UEFA have confirmed that Barcelona have been granted provisional access to the 2023/24 Champions League after suspending their investigation of the Negreira case. Payments to a former referee official led to widespread condemnation for Barcelona, who were accused of bribery and threatened with a ban from European competition if they were found guilty. Barcelona president Joan Laporta has long insisted the club have broken no rules and have nothing to hide, vowing to work with UEFA while the governing body investigated the payments and allegations against the club. Now, UEFA have confirmed they have suspended their investigations and have not found any reason to ban Barcelona from the Champions League . It is stressed that UEFA's ruling is simply provisional and is not final as ethics and disciplinary inspectors from inside the organisation continue to evaluate the facts available and can request a punishment for Barcelona if any evidence of wrongdoing is found.
