Calling The Mario Movie Super Bowl Ad Number Lets You Talk To Luigi

Before the big Game on Sunday night, Twitter was set ablaze by a new trailer for the Super Mario Movie. Well, actually, it was an ad for Mario and Luigi's plumbing company, paying homage to 1989's Super Mario Bros. Super Show. It even includes a number you can call to hear from Luigi. While most people checked if the plumbers' website is real after watching the ad ten to twelve more times (it is, by the way), others called the number. Likely expecting to be met with little more than a dial tone, Mario fans were pleasantly surprised to hear Charlie Day's Luigi on the other end. A recorded message since Charlie would have been busy doing his pre- Game rituals ahead of the Eagles returning to the Super Bowl. Why letting your baby watch screens could harm their chance of success at school

Letting infants watch tablets and TV may be impairing their academic achievement and emotional wellbeing later on, according to a new study. Researchers found increased use of screen time during infancy was associated with poorer executive functioning once the child was nine years old, according to the study published Monday in the journal JAMA Paediatrics. Executive functioning skills are mental processes that “enable us to plan, focus attention, remember instructions, and juggle multiple tasks successfully,” according to the Harvard University Centre on the Developing Child. Team Fortress 2 Is Getting "A Full-On Update-Sized Update" This Year

For years, Valve let Team Fortress 2 languish. Oh sure, there’d be the occasional event, a new map here and there, but there wasn’t a whole lot going on to shake things up. It was so bad that bots had started taking over, kicking out legit players while they advertised for porn sites or NFTs or god knows what else. That all started to change last year. Valve said they’d heard the cries of Team Fortress 2 players, and they brought forth several updates that ended the bot menace (or at least severely curtailed it) while also fixing server exploits and bugs that had been around since the Game ’s launch back in 2007. And in December, a winter update brought five new maps chosen from the Steam Workshop and a host of new cosmetics. You even got a free present just for logging in. It's been a while since the beginning of MultiVersus Season 2 and despite the avalanche of new characters we received back when the Game launched, we've yet to see any meaningful updates or additions during the current season besides a couple of maps and Marvin the Martian. Announced via the official MultiVersus Twitter account, the current season of the Game is being extended to March 31 to give players more time to complete the Battle Pass. Season 2 was originally supposed to wrap up on February 14, meaning Season 2 has been extended for more than a month. The 2023 NBA trade deadline is rapidly approaching. Teams now have three days to finalize their remaining business before the trade market is closed for the season at 3 p.m. ET on Thursday, Feb. 9. Some teams, like the Brooklyn Nets and Dallas Mavericks , may look to get things done ahead of time, but others will be working the phones right up until the final minutes.  As the rumor mill continues to churn, here's a look at some of the latest news and notes from around the league: Bulls showing little interest in trading LaVine The Chicago Bulls are one of the must-watch teams heading into the deadline. They could trade everyone, get...

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Will Let You Leave Tevinter, According To Leaks

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf has gone through an unholy amount of changes through its lengthy, troubled development cycle. Yet one truth has remained throughout: it must take us to Tevinter. The ending to Inquisition made this clear, with Solas running off to the secretive region to carry out the next part of his world-ending schemes. However, a recent leak suggests that we won't be spending all of our time in this new country. In a short Game play clip shared by an apparent playtester, we can see that at least one of the quests will take us to Weisshaupt, the home of the Grey Wardens. Weisshaupt is located in the Anderfels, another location we've never visited in the series, and one outside of the Tevinter Imperium. This suggests that Dreadwolf's story will allow us to leave the country, exploring multiple regions as we did in Inquisition. Markelle Fultz 'thankful' for time with 76ers ahead of first game in Philadelphia since 2019 trade

It's been a tumultuous road for former No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz since being selected by the Philadelphia 76ers back in 2017. After averaging over 23 points per game in college and entering the draft with high praise for his two-way game, Fultz's career unraveled almost immediately due to injuries. A complicated shoulder injury, which received significant attention during his time in Philadelphia, limited Fultz to just 33 games over his two years with the Sixers. Following an unsuccessful start to his career in Phildelphia, the Sixers traded Fultz to the Orlando Magic at the 2019 NBA trade deadline, where he's remained since.  Injuries have again been an issue for Fultz during his time with the Magic, most notably an ACL tear just eight Game s into the 2020-21 season which sidelined him for much of the following year as well. He also suffered a fractured toe to start this season, but since retu...

Mario Fans Debate Which Character Should Be Removed From The Series Forever

Times are tough out there. Tech companies around the world are laying off staff as everyone expects a recession to hit in the next few months--assuming we're not already in one. So far, we haven't heard about any layoffs at Nintendo, but you gotta assume there's going to at least be some belt-tightening at the home of Mario. And with that in mind, I felt that this ResetEra thread from user Spring-Loaded was especially topical. Not every Mario character draws in the kinds these days, so Spring-Loaded asked: "If you could erase one Mario character from existence, who would it be?"
