New Zealand to ban TikTok on devices linked to parliament

New Zealand said it will ban TikTok on devices with access to the country's parliamentary network due to cybersecurity concerns, becoming the latest nation to limit the use of the video-sharing app on government-related devices . Concerns have mounted globally about the potential for the Chinese government to access users' location and contact data through ByteDance, TikTok's Chinese parent company. The depth of those concerns was underscored this week when the Biden administration demanded that TikTok's Chinese owners divest their stakes or the app could face a US ban. In New Zealand, TikTok will be banned on all devices with access to parliament's network by the end of March. Parliamentary Service Chief Executive Rafael Gonzalez-Montero said in an email to Reuters that the decision was taken after advice from cybersecurity experts and discussions within government and with other countries. Final Fantasy 7 Remake 3D Billboard Starring Red XIII Wins Tokyo Advertising Award

Japan has managed to garner a bit of a reputation over the past few years for having some impressive 3D billboards, and one of the most impressive was an advert for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Integrade which was put up for the holiday season back in 2021. Featuring everyone's favorite lion-wolf hybrid, Red XIII is seen chilling out before a thrilling helicopter chase scene plays that includes some of that classic Final Fantasy 7 music we all know and love. Of course, with it being a 3D billboard, there are moments during the scene in which Red XIII appears to peek over the side of the billboard and take note of the surroundings below. It's a truly impressive display that wowed many at the time, and now it seems to have impressed the Tokyo Outdoor Advertising Contest judges who have given the billboard an award for its creativity (thanks Destructoid). The Last Of Us Showrunner Regrets Cutting Dialogue Foreshadowing Joel's Decision

Spoiler warning for the entirety of HBO's The Last of Us Yesterday, many of us had one thing on our minds: The Last of Us' violent season one finale. Joel's decision to rob the world of its one chance to defeat the cordyceps infection was always going to be a controversial subject, but it's one that the show went to great lengths to build up to in previous episodes. However, showrunner Craig Mazin feels that he could have taken this issue even further. In a post-show interview with Vulture, Mazin reveals that he actually scrapped some dialogue from episode five that foreshadowed Joel's decision to choose Ellie over the entire world. The cut line came from Henry, as he spoke with Joel before tragedy struck the group at the end of the episode. It would have explained why Henry helped FEDRA and betrayed his neighbours, and how that decision haunts him. NBA Power Rankings: 76ers take No. 1 spot as Knicks, Nuggets stumble; Kings and Lakers move up

As novelist Chuck Palahniuk writes in his anthology, Burnt Tongues : "Yes, Icarus fell to earth after flying too close to the sun, but what a glorious fall it must have been." After reaching the No. 1 spot for the first time this season, the New York Knicks fell victim to the NBA Power Ran kings curse, losing three straight Game s before Sunday's win to conclude their all too brief moment in the spotlight. Waiting to take their place, like an eager understudy, were the Philadelphia 76ers , owners of the league's longest winning streak after a perfect week. Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings just keep on lighting the beam, enough to raise them six spots all the way to No. 2. Another team moving up is the Los Angeles Lakers, whose new pieces have gelled quickly enough to earn praise from the injured LeBron James . On the other side are the Denver Nuggets, who fall six spots this week after some unch...

Konami Is Aware Of "Excitement And Enthusiasm" For Castlevania After Dead Cells DLC

Konami is aware of the "excitement and enthusiasm" for new Castlevania content following the positive reception to the release of Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania. Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania is exciting for a number of reasons. For starters, more Dead Cells is never going to be a bad thing, but the main reason is that it finally gives us something new in the series, something that isn't a bunch of NFTs that no one asked for or a few character skins for Brawlhalla. Related: Bloober Team Is Taking A "Very Safe Approach" To Silent Hill 2 Remake If you're excited for Return to Castlevania, you might want to keep that energy up as, in an interview with IGN, Konami's Return to Castlevania supervisor Tsutomu Taniguchi has noted that the "excitement and enthusiasm" for the DLC has been "motivating" for the studio, likely in relation to future content for the series. Incredible 28-hour rescue mission for a stranded humpback whale (Video)

Image
When an enormous humpback whale washed up on a beach in Argentina, it was a race against time for humans to come to its rescue . The amazing efforts of a team of rescue rs saved the day, as they worked tirelessly for 28 hours to return the whale to the water. The incident took place in the resort town of Mar del to you, about 200 miles south of Buenos Aires. The 30-strong team of rescuers worked around the clock and brought in some mechanical help, including a crane from the Coast Guard, to try and dislodge the whale from the sand. However, their efforts were in vain as the whale was becoming weak, and waves kept washing it back towards the shore. Not giving up hope, the team dug trenches under the whale to try and help it gain some momentum. They also attached a harness to the whale and used a tugboat to drag it out into the water. After much hard work and perseverance, their efforts paid off as the whale finally swam away and was safely returned to the ocean. This ...
