RI Weather for January 17, 2023 – John Donnelly

A weak area of low pressure runs out ahead of the larger system over the great Lakes and provides at least the chance for some light showers in the evening hours. Before that, however, we’ll return to the above normal temperatures (no complaints here…), highs expected to reach the mid 40’s from morning lows around 30. Winds lighten up and shift to a dry west-southwesterly direction.

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards, not away from, thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena. He returned in 2001 to the old family neighborhood of Elmhurst where the McCabe’s, Donnelly’s, Walker’s and Callan’s have been since after the Civil War.

The judge overseeing the Georgia 2020 election interference case has denied a motion from defendant Kenneth Chesebro to dismiss his case over an alleged paperwork error by one of the prosecutors. Chesebro had alleged that Fulton County special prosecutor Nathan Wade, who was brought in by the district attorney to help investigate the election interference case, didn't file the oath of office required to join the DA's team. Fitch downgrades US credit rating, citing mounting debt and political divisions
