Yankees Betting Preview
New York moved to 36-26 after falling to Boston. The Yankees’ pitching let them down in Game one, and they’ll look to avenge their largest loss of the season. The New York offense is scoring 3.92 runs per Game, while batting .239, with a .313 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.87 ERA, with a 1.25 WHIP. Anthony Rizzo did his part by producing three runs in the Game one loss, and he leads the team in hits (65), with splits of .265/11/32. Gleyber Torres has a hit in five of the last seven Games, and he’s posting a line of .252/11/28.
Clarke Schmidt (2-6, 4.70 ERA, 58 Ks) will get the ball for New York. The third-year righty held his own versus Boston in the Bronx, holding them one run through 5.1 innings pitched. Schmidt has only managed to pitch two quality starts in his first ten appearances, and he might find some trouble at Fenway this go-round with the Sox.

Red Sox Betting Preview
Boston moved to 35-35 after defeating New York. The Red Sox went nuts at the plate last night, and they’ll look to win a third consecutive Game for the first time this month. The Boston offense is 4.18 scoring runs per Game, while batting .258, with a .340 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.89 ERA, with a 1.34 WHIP. Alex Verdugo is enjoying a seven-Game hit streak, and he leads Boston in hits (77) and runs (45). Rafael Devers went yard twice in the series finale versus the Rockies, and he’s up to team-leads in HR (17) and RBI (56). Masataka Yoshida collected a career-high four hits in the Game one win over the Yanks, and he leads the Red Sox in batting (.309), with 36 RBI. Justin Turner is riding an eight-Game hit streak of his own, and after going off for six RBI in last night’s victory, he’s posting splits of .278/10/36.
Brayan Bello (3-4, 3.78 ERA, 31 Ks) will take the bump for Boston. The sophomore right-hander also pitched well in his road start last weekend against the Yanks, holding them to two runs over seven innings of work. Bello appears to be growing as the season develops, and four of his last six outings have resulted in quality starts.
New York vs Boston Trends
New York is 38-32 against the spread this season, with a 31-37-2 O/U record. Boston is 35-35 ATS this year, with a 38-30-2 over/under record.
Corey’s Free Pick
Boston got straight to the point last night, scoring multiple runs in the first four innings, and while the second contest may go at a much slower pace, I think they double up here Saturday. The Red Sox have found some momentum at the plate, and with the Yankees sending a vulnerable Clarke Schmidt to the hill, there’s a good chance that momentum keeps rolling. Meanwhile, New York’s bats have been inconsistent without Aaron Judge’s presence in the heart of the lineup, and they could end up struggling with Brayan Bello again, who pitched well against them in the Bronx last week. Let’s back Boston to take Game two of this AL East series.
